As a pastor taking his first group to the Holy Land, I was so thankful to have the Travel with Friends team helping me every step of the way. They were amazing from the day that we picked the date to the day we returned. We loved the support staff, the guides, the accommodations and the travel arrangements. Highly recommended!

Welcome dinner and overnight on the beautiful Mediterranean Sea. Following dinner, the group will go to Jaffa (also called Joppa) to visit Simon the Tanners house. Then we will walk around Jaffa until heading back to the hotel.
Day 3 Caesarea Maritimi/ Mt. Carmel/ Megiddo/ Nazareth Village/ Tiberias (Sea Of Galilee)
Today we depart for the Galilee enjoying stops at the extensive ruins of Caesarea Maritima, an ancient port city, built by King Herod and later becoming the seat of government of the Roman governors, and where Peter proclaimed the Good News to the Roman centurion (Acts 9 & 25). We continue to Megiddo (the valley of Armageddon) and then to Mt. Carmel, where Elijah prayed, and God defeated 450 prophets of Baal with fire from heaven (1 Kings 18). We end our visit to Nazareth Village. Dinner and overnight in Tiberias.
Day 4 Mt. Arbel/ Caesarea Philippi/ Capernaum/ Peters Primacy/ Sea Of Galilee Boat Ride
After breakfast we begin our day with a visit to Mt. Arbel for a panoramic view of the Sea of Galilee. Next, we travel north into the Golan Heights along the Banias River to the ancient site of Caesarea Philippi (Banias), where Jesus asked His disciples “who do men say that I am?” (Mark 8: 27- 30). Returning to the Sea of Galilee area, we visit Capernaum (Mark 1: 31-38), the base of Jesus’ early ministry, the home of Peter, and the site of many healings. A short bus ride will us to Peter’s Primacy on the shores of the Sea of Galilee. We later board a replica “Jesus Boat”, a fishing boat of the kind used by the disciples of Jesus, for our boat ride on the Sea of Galilee. Dinner and overnight in Tiberias.
Day 5 Beit She’an/ River Jordan - Bethany Beyond The Jordan/ The Dead Sea to Float/ Jerusalem
We start our journey to Jerusalem with a brief stop at Beit She’an, one of the bestpreserved Decapolis Roman cities. In Beit She’an, the bodies of King Saul and his sons were hung from the city walls (1 Samuel 31:10- 12) after the Philistines defeated them. Next, we head to Bethany Beyond the Jordan the site on the Jordan River believed to be the site where John the Baptist baptized Jesus. From here we head south for a time to float on the Dead Sea. After our time at the Dead Sea, we begin our ascent up to Jerusalem.
Day 6 Herodian/ The Upper Room/ House Of Caiaphas/ Southern Steps/ Ramparts Walk
Following breakfast, we travel to the Shepherd Field for a visit to Herodian to visit the fortress where it is believed that King Herod is buried. We head back to Jerusalem for a visit to the Upper Room where the last supper took place. Next, we head to the House of Caiaphas where three times Peter denied Christ before the rooster crowed. We will see the original steps used by Jesus as he was held at Caiaphas’s house before being tried by Pontius Pilate and ultimately, crucified. From here we visit the Southern Steps located at the south end of the Temple Mount where it is believed that Jesus spend time at teaching when He was in Jerusalem. We end our day walking the Rampart Walk. The Ramparts Walk is a fun way to get an overview of Jerusalem. Not only do you get to peek in places you’d never see otherwise – like the cloistered Armenian compound – but you also get a stunning view of the areas outside the walls. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 7 Mt. Of Olives/ Palm Sunday Road/ Garden Of Gethsemane/ Holy Sepulcher/ Western Wall / Pool Of Bethesda/ThePavement
We begin our day on the beautiful Mt. of Olives to behold the breathtaking panorama of the Holy City. Our pilgrimage will proceed down the Palm Sunday Road to the Garden of Gethsemane - with its ancient olive grove, and the Church of All Nations, where tradition holds that Jesus prayed on the night of His betrayal (Matt. 26:36, John 18:1). Entering the Old City of Jerusalem through the Zion Gate, we will walk the Via Dolorosa, the path Jesus walked after being sentenced by Pontius Pilate, including stops at St. Anne’s Crusader Church, Pools of Bethesda, where Jesus healed a paralytic (John 5:1-15), the Pavement (where Jesus stood while being tried by Pilate), Ecce Homo Arch, the ancient Cardo, ending at the Church of the Holy Sepulcher (the last 5 Stations of the Cross). We will continue our walk through the Old City to the most holy site of the Jewish people, the Western (Wailing) Wall of Herods Temple. Beyond the wall lies the 35-acre Temple area purchased by King David (2 Samuel. 24:18-25). On this site now stands the Dome of the Rock (the third holiest site in all Islam) and the El-Aksa Mosque. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 8 Bethlehem / Holocaust Museum / Garden Tomb

We end our day with a visit to Golgotha and the Garden Tomb for a time of quiet reflection, worship, and communion. Dinner and overnight.

I had a most wonderful trip, accompanied by 15 new friends from South Dakota led by Pastor Rooney, 4-13 Feb 20. Because I was a VERY late add-on to their trip, I dealt with 4 people from Friends and each was OUTSTANDING. However, the STAR who deserves special note is Kelsie Vail, the Air Specialist: she was able to save me over $1,700.00 on my upgraded seating [disabled Vet with BAD back]. She was incredibly personable, professional, and simply "down-home" friendly, genuine, and nice!! The trip was a true "bucket-list" adventure, walking where Jesus walked, preached, and performed miracles [I was overwhelmed many times and want to visit Israel again!]. The sights were amazing; the bus was quite comfortable; and our Tour Leader ("Charlie") and bus drivers were extremely knowledgeable, experienced, and Safety-conscious. Truly the VERY BEST overseas tour I have ever taken! Thank you, Friends, and especially VP Mitch Jensen and Kelsie Vail for all the pre-trip information, help overcoming flight delay/change, and post-trip timely assistance. They will NOT let you down! Shalom!
The faces of Friends www.TravelWithFriends.com, BTR (Bill), Claudia and Charlie Dajani. An amazing experience that could only be possible with this team! From the first of booking our trip through to seeing us off at the ticket counter for our return trip back to the states. I absolutely recommend going to Israel and doing it with Friends travel. Charlie, you are amazing. Charlie’s extensive knowledge, humor, care of the group and individuals, mapping and juggling of sites to make it seamless and timely was a true treasure. Outstanding job!!!!! You all helped make this an experience to remember, share and HIGHLY recommend! ❤️
